Dr. Andrew Horng

A native of Montgomery County, Dr. Horng, attended the International Baccalaureate Program at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville. After graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s of Science with High Honors in Physiology and Neurobiology, he went on to attend the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Horng then completed a two year general practice residency program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after which he returned to Baltimore for his pediatric dental training at the University of Maryland.

Over the years, Dr. Horng has benefited from the mentorship of many great dentists from around the country. He strives to provide the same great experiences to other dental professionals. He has been a clinical instructor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry for his entire career, dedicating multiple days every month to teach the pediatric dental residents at the school. He is also very active in several dental organizations in Maryland, and currently holds a number of leadership positions in the Maryland State Dental Association, the Southern Maryland Dental Society, and the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Horng routinely has college students, dental students, pediatric dental residents, and dentists shadowing at the office throughout the year.

Dr. Horng was rated a Bethesda Magazine’s Top Dentist in 2020 & 2022, as well as a Washingtonian Magazine Top Dentist in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023.

Dr. Alshami
Dr. Haider Alshami

Dr. Haider Alshami is a board-certified pediatric dentist.  He values a conservative, minimally invasive, and comprehensive treatment approach for his patients.  He is passionate about providing access to dental care for patients with special health care needs.  Dr. Alshami has volunteered his time both locally and internationally.  Some of his volunteer work includes participating in the Give Kids a Smile Program and traveling to Ecuador to provide free dental care to children.  Dr. Alshami is also passionate about teaching.  Earlier in his career, he taught dental assistants and was recognized as the best instructor at the Fortis Institute.  He continues to teach dental students and pediatric dental residents at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry as a Dean’s Faculty. 

Dr. Alshami attended dental school in Egypt.  After dental school, he attended the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for a one-year advanced general dentistry training program.  He then worked in private practice for 3 years before moving to the United States.  Dr. Alshami completed his pediatric dental training at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and was appointed as a chief resident during his second year.  After completing his residency program, he spent 2 years in a pediatric dental fellowship program where he taught in the pediatric department at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and provided dental care at the Harford County Dental Clinic. 

In his free time, Dr. Alshami likes to hike and travel.  He also enjoys working out and playing soccer.  Dr. Alshami is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
